Wyatt’s Take

  • President Trump is standing up for American heritage and rejecting attempts to erase Christopher Columbus from history.
  • The new statue at the White House sends a clear message that traditional values and national pride still matter in Washington.
  • Working families across the heartland see this as another win against the woke mob that wants to tear down our shared past.

President Donald Trump hosted a celebration of Italian explorer and navigator Christopher Columbus at the White House ahead of Columbus Day.

The event featured the unveiling of a new statue honoring the explorer, marking a direct pushback against years of efforts to cancel Columbus Day and replace it with alternative observances.

Trump used the occasion to speak directly about the importance of remembering the nation’s history without apology.

“We are here today to celebrate one of the great explorers of all time, and to remind the world that America will never erase its history,” Trump stated.

Wyatt Matters

Middle America still believes in honoring the courage and sacrifice that built this country, and they reject the endless rewriting of history pushed by coastal elites.

When I was growing up, we were told that Christopher Columbus discovered America. I checked the paths of his four voyages, and all he discovered were parts of Central and South America as well as some of the nations in the Caribbean. On his fourth voyage, he passed near Florida, but never set foot in North America. And frankly, I think it should be changed to Indigenous People’s Day, because they helped European settlers when they came to America; because of abuses, to them Thanksgiving is a day of mourning.
