January 1, BREAKING: Former Marine Finally FREE After Years in Russian Prison

Wyatt’s Take
- Robert Gilman, a former U.S. Marine, has been released from Russian prison after more than four years behind bars
- President Trump personally announced the breakthrough, showing his commitment to bringing Americans home
- This marks another win for Trump’s direct diplomacy approach that the media won’t give him credit for
A former United States Marine who spent over four years locked up in a Russian prison is finally coming home. Robert Gilman’s release was announced by President Donald Trump, marking another American freed from foreign detention under this administration.
Gilman served his country as a Marine before finding himself trapped in Russia’s prison system for more than four years. The details of his detention have remained largely out of the spotlight while diplomatic efforts worked behind the scenes.
Today, after more than four years of detention in Russia, Robert Gilman is on his way home to be reunited with his family. Mr. Gilman joins over 100 Americans whom President Trump has freed during his second term in office.

President Trump made the announcement himself, showing the personal attention this administration gives to Americans held overseas. This stands in stark contrast to previous administrations that left Americans rotting in foreign jails while focusing on other priorities.
The release comes as Trump continues to take a hard line with foreign adversaries while also negotiating directly for American interests. This isn’t the first time Trump has secured the release of Americans held abroad, and it likely won’t be the last.
For Gilman’s family, the wait is finally over. After more than 1,400 days of uncertainty, they can look forward to being reunited with their loved one on American soil.
The mainstream media will barely cover this story because it makes Trump look good. They’d rather talk about anything else than give credit where credit is due.
Wyatt Matters
Every American held overseas is someone’s son or daughter, someone’s husband or wife. When our government fights to bring them home, it shows we haven’t forgotten what it means to be American. This Marine served his country, and his country didn’t abandon him. That’s how it should work.
