Wyatt’s Take

  • The USS Tripoli is racing toward the Persian Gulf with a clear message for the ayatollahs.
  • This massive assault ship carries 2,200 Marines and a fleet of stealth jets ready to secure the Strait of Hormuz.
  • The ship is built for vertical launch missions, maritime interdiction, and rapid air support across contested waters.

The Strait of Hormuz could be open tomorrow if Iran stops threatening global shipping.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio issued that warning as the Tripoli moves to support Operation Epic Fury.

This ship is a pure aviation machine that traded its landing craft space for extra fuel and hangers.

The F-35B Lightning jump jets on board can hover like helicopters and strike targets with supersonic missiles.

They are joined by heavy-lift Super Stallion helicopters capable of dropping dozens of Marines directly into combat zones.

The ARG-MEU is the Swiss Army knife of the joint force.

Marine Gen. Francis L. Donovan noted the unit can do just about anything to protect American interests.

The ship is named after the historic battle where Marines crushed pirates to protect trade, a mission that feels very familiar today.

The Tripoli is well-defended with its own deck guns and missiles while sitting under the protection of Aegis destroyers.

These Marines are battle-ready and prepared to break the back of any regime trying to bully our allies.

Wyatt Matters

Need to have every option available. President Trump needs to hit them with missiles right now just because they are dragging their feet on negotiations

What I can’t figure out is- If Iran’s military branches have been wiped out. How can they still control the strait?
