January 1, Jane Seymour Shares Secrets Of Healthy Aging

Wyatt’s Take
- A Hollywood star credits good choices over fads for staying fit.
- She says she’s living her best life at age 74 thanks to healthy foods and staying active.
- Her story reminds us the basics still work when it comes to health.
Jane Seymour, now 74, says she feels “in my prime right now” and is thankful for her health and steady work in Hollywood. She credits her energy to eating well, avoiding diets, and keeping active every day.
“I love the Mediterranean way of eating, it works so well, and it tastes good, it includes a lot of delicious food like tomatoes, olives and fish,” she explained. Jane says she enjoys a light breakfast, usually coffee and hard-boiled eggs, then has her main meal at lunchtime. Most days, she eats fish and vegetables, often grown in her own backyard.
For snacks, she sticks to veggies with hummus and different nuts, saying she likes savory treats best. “I do love nuts,” Jane said. “I am a savory person, I like the salt.” She doesn’t believe in restrictive diets, saying, “If you think you are on a diet, you will lose track, you will cheat. But if you find healthy foods you really love that make you feel good, you never feel shorted.”
Jane also keeps moving by lifting light weights and doing Pilates. “You have to keep moving!” she said. With a family history of heart disease, Jane gets regular checkups and believes in paying close attention to her health.
As she turned 75, Jane shared she’s grateful for her opportunities and proud to keep working hard. “Mercifully, I have the energy for it. But I’m just so grateful, I really am.” She hopes to keep setting an example for others and enjoys each day.
Hard work, smart choices, and a positive outlook—Jane Seymour shows what can happen when you take care of yourself and don’t buy into fads.

Good, sound, well-known dietary advice. Couple that with a good exercise program, which I am sure she pursues, and you have the Fountain of Youth. No big secret, but why do so few people avail themselves of this?

She looks amazing. I follow the same healthful journey and love how it makes me feel. I am obsessed with colorful veggies, nuts and seeds! All plant based for past 22 years. Weight training 4 times a week. NO junk food. No stress. No mystery here. Take care of your body and it takes care of you.
