The controversial Somali-American member of Congress has been embroiled in a strange marriage saga involving two men, one of whom may be her brother. Rep. Omar has been accused of faking a marriage with her brother so he could immigrate to the United States. Now the Daily Mail reports that Rep. Omar is divorcing her current husband. Confused? Elijah Cummings. It appears to be too much for former President Barack Obama, who’s been pretty quiet when it comes to criticizing his successor, but Obama threw some subtle shade over the weekend, by retweeting an Op-Ed from the Washington Post, signed by former Obama administration officials – critical of Trump for ‘poisoning our democracy.

Rep. Ilhan Omar Files from Divorce Again

Rep. Ilhan Omar, the liberal Minnesota congresswoman who has been under fire for filing taxes with one man while legally married to another is now set to divorce yet again, the Daily Mail reports.

Omar has moved into an upscale apartment in Minneapolis that she stays in without husband Ahmed Hirsi, the father of her three children, according to the report, though Hirsi does live there when Omar is in Washington.

Trump Attacks Dem Rep.’s Baltimore District as ‘Disgusting, Rat Infested Mess’

President Donald Trump lashed out in tweets against Rep. Elijah Cummings, the powerful House Oversight Committee chairman, claiming his Baltimore-area district is “considered the worst run and most dangerous anywhere in the United States.”

Trump’s detractors flooded Twitter to support the city and Cummings. The topic “#WeAreBaltimore” was trending at No. 1 on Twitter with more than 14,000 tweets by Saturday evening, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Barack Obama shares op-ed criticizing President Trump’s ‘poisoning of our democracy’

“I’ve always been proud of what this team accomplished during my administration. But more than what we did, I’m proud of how they’re continuing to fight for an America that’s better,” Obama tweeted with a link to the op-ed published Friday evening in The Washington Post.

Under the headline, “We are African Americans, we are patriots, and we refuse to sit idly by,” the former Obama administration officials vowed to stand up against the “racism, sexism, homophobia and xenophobia . . . wielded by the president and any elected official complicit in the poisoning of our democracy.”
