The US military has carried out airstrikes against ISIS in Syria. War Secretary Pete Hegseth said these attacks were in direct response to the deaths of American soldiers.

The strikes targeted ISIS fighters, infrastructure, and weapons locations.

He explained the US will not hesitate to defend its people, and warned any enemies who target Americans will face severe consequences.

Two Iowa National Guard members and a translator were recently killed in Syria, with three others hurt during ongoing operations.
