January 1, Key Senators Miss Hearing on Biden Allegations

Senate Democrats didn’t show up to a hearing on Wednesday about what some call a “cover-up” of President Joe Biden’s mental health when he was in office. Most Democrats skipped the event where former Trump White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer and others were talking. Only Senators Dick Durbin and Peter Welch attended briefly, just long enough to say they thought the hearing was a waste of time.

Republican Senator John Cornyn noticed when Durbin left. He said that the Democrats not being there meant they were admitting they were guilty of not being honest with the American people.

Republican Senator Eric Schmitt said that Americans deserve to know who was running the country when Biden wasn’t able to do it right. But, he was disappointed that almost all Democrats refused to be a part of the hearing. He said them not showing up showed that they didn’t want to face the truth and that they were failing their responsibility to the people.

Senator Ted Cruz joined in, saying that no Democrats came because they didn’t care about being honest with the people. He said they knew Biden wasn’t able to do the job and they didn’t want to admit it.

Sean Spicer also pointed out that the Democrats were missing.

During the hearing, Democrat Senator Durbin showed clips of former President Donald Trump, trying to suggest Trump wasn’t always clear-headed either. But Republicans said the Democrats were just trying to distract from the real issue about Biden.
