January 1, White House: Trump Targets Sanctuary Cities

President Trump is about to make a big move! He’s expected to sign a new executive order that will help track down the states and places that aren’t following federal immigration rules.

The White House press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, talked about the plans for Monday, which is a special day because it’s right before Trump’s 100th day back in office. She explained that Trump will sign two important orders to keep our country safe.

The first order is all about law and order. It gives more power to our brave law enforcement to catch criminals and protect good folks.

The second order is focused on keeping bad guys, or “criminal aliens,” out of our neighborhoods. This order will tell the attorney general and the secretary of Homeland Security to list all the states and local areas that won’t help with immigration laws.

Tom Homan, the Border Czar, said that places shouldn’t allow dangerous people to stay in their communities. This is especially important now because some places, like Rochester, New York, are in trouble for not following the rules.

Also, there’s an exciting announcement coming up for American truck drivers. Trump wants to make sure everyone driving a big truck can speak English well to keep our roads safe. Sean Duffy, the Transportation Secretary, said to keep an eye out for this news!

By the end of Monday, Trump will have signed over 140 executive orders since he took office again. That’s almost as many as President Biden signed in all of his time in office!
