January 1, Trump’s Virtual Interview with Probation Officer Precedes Hush Money Sentencing
Former President Donald Trump is scheduled for a virtual interview with a probation officer on Monday. This is part of the process leading up to sentencing after a jury found him guilty in his New York hush money trial. The interview will take place at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, with his lawyer, Todd Blanche, present.
The probation officer will gather information about Trump’s personal history and criminal record to inform a report. This report will be used by Judge Juan Merchan to help decide a suitable punishment. The New York court system’s website explains that the pre-sentence report offers a chance for the defendant’s lawyer to highlight positive aspects of the defendant’s life.
Last month, jurors convicted Trump on all 34 felony counts of falsifying business records. This was in connection to an alleged cover-up of a tryst with adult film star Stormy Daniels as part of a “catch-and-kill” scheme to influence the 2016 presidential election. Trump, who denied the affair and pleaded not guilty to the charges, vowed to appeal.
Judge Merchan has scheduled the sentencing for July 11. This is just days before Trump is expected to receive the GOP’s presidential nomination at the Republican National Convention. Legal experts doubt that the 77-year-old Trump will end up behind bars, but the Secret Service has reportedly coordinated with local jail officials just in case. Possible alternatives to imprisonment include probation or community service.
“President Trump and his legal team are already taking necessary steps to challenge and defeat the lawless Manhattan DA case,” Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung said in a statement over the weekend. He referred to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
Trump faces three other criminal cases on the state and federal levels as he seeks a second White House term. This has led the former president to claim he is the victim of a politically motivated “witch hunt.” It is unclear whether any of these cases will reach the trial stage before the November contest.

I agree. The American people need to have the opportunity to say who they want to lead us without interference by the left who will do anything to stay in power.

Did you look at the process from accusation to conviction?
It’s the same process that is utilized daily throughout the United States and major portions of the world.
Take your political blinders off and see what this man has done to our system, and even demeanig the likes of you. Stop drinking the Kool-aid.

The Pre-Sentence Report is much more than an opportunity for the defendant to get positive information before the judge to consider in determining the sentence. Having been involved in a number of successful prosecutions as case agent, the first thing I did on a jury returning a Guilty verdict is seek out the US Probation Office’s representative who was usually in court at that time. I made an appointment to bring information (in an informal report style) to that office about the information about other criminal or derogatory information which could not be introduced at trial (e.g. actual amount of government funds stolen but not charged due to limits on the number of counts in the indictment, other crimes in which involved but not charged/convicted, etc.).
All that being said, given Merchan’s decisions in this trial there won’t really be need for any derogatory information (is such exists and is proven).

President Trump is falsely found guilty of a
Crime that does not exist. These people are
Stupid to even say he is a Felon. He is not
The Judge is a Corrupt individual who is
Using the Power of the Law to illegally push
A Crime that was not committed. The Judge
should be disbarred and put in jail for Abuse
Of Power. President Trump is not Guilty.

Looks like they are putting a leash on that dog. It is apparently unlawful to be that successful in business and politics in the US unless you are a democrat. Biden will pardon his son!
