January 1, Donate for Donuts: Krispy Kreme Giving Blood Donors a Free Dozen
As the nation faces a blood shortage, Krispy Kreme has a sweet incentive for those willing to donate their blood to the Red Cross.
From now until January 31, Krispy Kreme is giving a dozen free glazed donuts to anyone who can show proof of donation.
Earlier this month, the Red Cross announced that it’s facing its worst blood shortage in more than a decade.
Blood donations and drives dried up throughout the pandemic — a problem that’s recently been exacerbated by severe winter weather.
To get their free Krispy Kreme dozen, people can prove they gave blood by showing their donation sticker or confirmation of donation in the Red Cross blood donor app. All types of blood are needed, especially O positive and O negative.
Those interested in donating can book an appointment on the Red Cross website.
