Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy states that rolling back unnecessary rules can help lower costs and fight inflation. He notes President Trump’s goal is to bring the basics, like homes and cars, within reach for regular folks.

“At a 30,000 foot level, when you have more rules and regulations, that costs more money. Prices go up,” Duffy said.

He explains cutting out wasteful spending and dumb regulations helps stop prices from rising. Duffy highlights how tough it is for young Americans to buy a home, saying,

“You look at the cost of housing, and you think, am I ever going to – my parents bought a house at 32 years old. When I’m 32, I can’t buy a house.”

Duffy’s department aims to relax rules that block affordable homebuilding, letting more families start to build their lives.

He points out that building a family starts with being able to own a home,

“If you can’t buy a house, how do you have family formation? And how do you have kids?”

He believes bringing back good jobs and increasing wages will also help folks afford what they need. The administration wants to see more people achieve the American dream by making everyday expenses manageable again.
