ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY…
1972: Hurricane Agnes becomes America’s costliest natural disaster, affecting 15 states, with 119 deaths and $3 billion in damage.

North Dakota Sen. Kevin Cramer (R) released a statement saying he had “sustained a serious injury” that required immediate surgery.

“While working in the yard over the weekend, I sustained a serious injury to my right hand, which required immediate surgery,” Cramer said.

“I continue to remain in North Dakota close to medical care as there is high risk of infection and the possible need for amputation.”

The senator said he was “alert and in good spirits.”

“I plan to return to Washington, D.C., after the Independence Day state work period and expect to be doling out a lot of left-handed first bumps,” Cramer said.

A spokesperson for Cramer later clarified that the possible amputation involves the 61-year-old senator’s fingers, The Hill reports.

Wonder if it was malfunction of machinery or if he was careless around it. In any event, hope all goes well and no amputation is needed. Todays medicine is so marvelous, he will be o.k. Blessings for a good recovery. Attitude is a big part of recovery so stay affirmative.

Yes, I learned the hard way about being careful near machinery. I was weed whacking up at our church and a branch I didn’t see got caught up in the string and whacked me across the leg. Thankfully it only bruised really bad. I cringe when I see people weed-whacking wear shorts and sandals.
